My name is Krystal Cordner. I am a certified Birth Doula through DONA International, as well as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor that can provide information/support with nursing, cloth diapering, babywearing, baby sign language, and baby led weaning. I am working towards fluency in American Sign Language. I will always support the mother and the choices she makes without judgment. My job is to make sure she is calm, comfortable and informed. From an early age I've had a passion for the maternity process and hope to help mothers through the wonderful journey into becoming a mother.
Birth is such an empowering moment. A time when mothers should be surrounded by the one(s) she loves and I will be there to support her every need. Having a good support team can really benefit labor. If mother is feeling fear or nervousness it could dramatically slow down the process. I have been trained to provide techniques that can ease the discomfort during labor. I'm also well informed of the stages of labor and into postpartum. I will be a constant person always by your side.
Doulas are a great addition to a birth team. If your partner is involved, I will be there to help guide them if they are feeling overwhelmed, inform them of procedures that come up, allow them to make phone calls and arrangements if need be, and take a moment to rest or get hydrated so that they can provide the best support imaginable. The length of your labor is unknown and can happen at any point in the day. I will be there to help smooth your transition and keep your mind focused on the task at hand.
